In August 2026, representatives of O.M. Beketov National University of Urban Economy in Kharkiv participated in Global Tech Kharkiv: Invest Forum 2026, a major technology and investment event that brought together more than 800 representatives of technology and construction companies, public authorities, universities, investors, international partners, and business leaders.

The forum became an important platform for dialogue on the technological and economic development of Kharkiv and Ukraine, bringing together stakeholders from different sectors to discuss new opportunities for cooperation, investment, innovation, and sustainable recovery.

Technology, investment and resilience

Held in Kharkiv, the forum focused on a number of topics of particular importance for the city and Ukraine, including digital transformation, technological innovation, investment opportunities, business resilience, energy independence, and human capital development.

The discussions demonstrated the important role of technology and innovation in addressing the challenges faced by Ukrainian cities and highlighted the need to combine technological solutions with investment, professional expertise, and the development of qualified human capital.

These topics are also closely aligned with the objectives of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project “Green & Energy-Efficient Building Design for UA Renovation (GreenBUILD)”, particularly its focus on sustainable and energy-efficient approaches to the reconstruction of Ukraine and the development of professional competencies required by the construction sector.

Strengthening cooperation with the ConTech sector

Participation in Global Tech Kharkiv: Invest Forum 2026 also contributed to strengthening cooperation with the National ConTech Cluster and fostering connections between higher education, business, government, and the construction technology sector.

Such interaction is particularly valuable for universities involved in GreenBUILD, as cooperation with industry stakeholders helps to better understand current technological developments and the changing needs of the construction sector. It also provides an important link between academic knowledge, professional practice, and innovative solutions that can be applied in Ukraine’s reconstruction.

The event was supported by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, who took part in the forum and met with the delegation of the National ConTech Cluster. His participation demonstrated the city’s strong support for the development of the technology sector and for initiatives aimed at strengthening Kharkiv’s innovation and investment potential.
